Prime Minister’s residence

Prime Minister’s residence

Good afternoon. We have been waiting for today, since we knew that we were nominated for Hometown Development Grand Prize. We were invited to Prime Minister’s official residence in Tokyo. It was raining, and hard to find a taxi. We brought the best gift from our hometown. Rice grown without tilling and chemicals, dried by sunshine, in an order-made rice box made of wood. Couldn’t think of anything better!

As you might know, there was a big demonstration happening in front of the house. Maybe that was one of the reasons why Prime Minister Shinzo Abe couldn’t attend the ceremony after all. Still we got the award and trophy through Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Koichi Hagiuda, bringing back an honorable feeling to our hometown Taketokoro.
