Higashiyama Kaii, the famous japanese painter said something which impressed me deeply:
"A town without old houses is like a person without memory"
This sentence confirms my own thinking and feelings: that japanese people are forgetting to value their own heritage, blocking out the history of their cities.
Everything old is worthless, not to be used anymore = everything new is wonderful and perfect, even if a concrete houses will start to rot in the next 25 years......
